A couple weeks ago, a former professor of mine asked for help on the internet because he really needed it. Like, really needed it. His communities came through, and hopefully he has enough to get back on his feet.
But he’s an artist who spends all his time making art, and he should spend all of his time making art because his art is brilliant and his time on this earth is wasted if he’s just staying busy with administrative, and I do not say this lightly, mumbo jumbo.
So what happens when that money runs out? Does he just ask again? I’m glad GoFundMe exists, because it picks up the pieces our government is too cheap to put back together. But I know we can do better.
Anyway, this one's about the ways we try to help each other, even if it's never enough.
